About

I’m 22 and recently moved back to Flagstaff, Arizona, after living in Paris for a while. This is my flickr.

I shoot 35mm film (usually Fuji Superia 400) on a Pentax Spotmatic. Occasionally, I’ll upload photos that have been shot with an Olympus XA-2, a Fuji DL200, or a Canon AE-1, but my Pentax is the most like an extension of my eye out of all of those and it’s what I find the best at taking pictures.

I post almost every photo I take on here. I’m picky about what I put up on flickr and not everyone can access my facebook photo albums, plus I find it nice to see a linear progression.

I love comments and seeing other film photo blogs. If you have one, pimp it out!

Great to see your images. You obviously love your photography like I do.
I see you favour 35mm – is there a reason why you don’t do much digital work?

I started shooting film because I couldn’t afford a DSLR, but stuck to it because I much prefer the way it looks over digital. Film has also gotten me a bunch of exposure that shooting digital probably never would have.

I KNEW you were in Flagstaff just from your banner picture! I grew up there and now live in Chandler, but that is some scenery you never forget. Your photography is stunningly beautiful. Just wanted to pop in and get that awkwardness over with.

Very nice. I just started doing pinhole photos using developer i make in my kitchen with common household ingredients. Made a bunch of cameras too. But I mostly shoot digital because of the speed (almost instant gratification). I’ve got a 35mm Canon Elan that I might start using again (developing my own film in the bathroom of course)… Anyway, here comes the PIMPIN: I hope you stop by to take a look at my photoblog…. http://www.richardessphoto.com
    But most importantly, Happy shooting!!!

I found your blog via Freshly Pressed. Congratulations! I was so pleased to see that you do film photography. I’m a writer not a photographer but when I shoot family memories and such I use digital. Primarily because I’m lazy. I love finding someone, especially someone young, who still cherishes what many consider relics. Bravo! You’ve made my day.

I, too found your blog on Freshly Pressed! Congratulations! It is wonderful and refreshing to see such a young person embracing film photography in today’s digital world. I was a long time film photographer before crossing over to digital a few years ago. I still have my Pentax 35mm SLR and I just might have to go out an buy a roll of film or two and see if it still works! Keep up the great work.
